The Aran Tweed 2 Ply is a refined blend of mulesing-free wool (50%), fine alpaca (30%), and viscose (20%) — the perfect mix to bring warmth and character to your handmade creations.

Soft to the touch and featuring a beautiful mélange texture, it’s enhanced with delicate, colorful neps that create the iconic tweed effect, giving every project a unique, rich personality.

Compared to the classic Aran Tweed version with its four-ply structure, this two-ply version doubles the yardage: each 50g skein offers approx. 180 meters of yarn, allowing for finer work and excellent coverage.

The 2 Ply spinning technique is the result of precise technical research, giving the yarn a compact and stable structure without compromising its lightness. When handled, Aran Tweed 2 Ply immediately reveals its character: a full-bodied and vibrant consistency that surprises with its almost velvety softness.

Versatile and enjoyable to work with, this yarn is ideal for crafting sporty Aran-style sweaters, both for men and women. It's perfect for cable or diamond stitch patterns, as well as for colorwork techniques like Fair Isle.

To maintain its quality over time, we recommend hand washing in cold or lukewarm water (maximum 30°C / 86°F). Avoid bleach and tumble drying. Lay flat to dry and, if needed, iron on a low setting.
