Raphia

Raphia is a natural fiber of plant origin composed of 100% plant cellulose.

Raphia, commonly called raffia, is obtained from the processing of palm leaves from tropical Africa. The palm leaves are appropriately processed and treated to create a regular and resistant fiber.

Natural Raphia is particularly recommended for the creation of clothing items such as bags and hats or in furnishing for containers, placemats and rugs.

Each 250 g ball has approximately 265 m of yarn, an optimal balance between quantity and yield. Raphia can be knitted or crocheted, with recommended sizes between 4.00 and 5.00 mm, allowing for a clear definition of the stitch and perfect shape retention.

The color palette reminds us of summer, with bright and warm colors. The shades are very harmonious and easy to match.

Raphia is a yarn that, due to its vegetal composition, requires small care to keep its qualities intact. It should not be washed in water or bleached; instead, a delicate dry cleaning and low-temperature ironing are recommended if necessary. With proper care, your projects will maintain their original beauty for a long time, even with frequent use.
